1. I thought the maximum rebate as per Enbridge website is $1250. Let me know please?

   Yes, you are right. The Enbridge website explains that certain attic insulation work can be completed by a registered Enbridge contractor without an Energy Audit, with a rebate of up to $1,250. The contractor must submit the rebate application to Enbridge on your behalf.

   We are a registered Enbridge contractor #9 (L3R) and we have already completed three projects in April 2026 using this approach.

   However, there are several reasons why we prefer to use a different approach with an Energy Auditor:

   1. Responsibility for the rebate: With the “up to $1,250” program, We are responsible for submitting the application and following up with Enbridge. We prefer not to take responsibility for the final rebate decision.
   2. The rebate is not guaranteed: “Up to $1,250” does not mean that you will receive $1,250. The final amount is determined by Enbridge. For example, Home Depot currently guarantees its customers $1,000, rather than $1,250.
   3. Our “Energy Auditor” approach is more beneficial for a customer: It can save you approximately $300–$700, while also being much less time-consuming for us because we do not have to prepare and submit all the paperwork through the special Enbridge portal and wait for their review and decision.

   Most importantly, this Energy Auditor approach is still available and working. The Auditor is in charge of your rebate, not the contractor!.

   Below, we have included a comparison of two quotes for a 1,000 sq. ft. attic:

   • Option 1: “Up to $1,250” rebate program — with the actual rebate potentially being closer to $1,000.
   • Option 2: Our “Energy Auditor” approach — with a potential $2,600–$2,800 rebate.

   I believe this comparison will make the difference between the two approaches much clearer.

   Let’s compare both options for the same 1,000 sq. ft. attic:

   OPTION 1 — Up to $1,250 rebate without an Energy Audit

   • R50 attic insulation + all required rebate paperwork: $1,690
     • Expected rebate: $1,000
     • Your final cost: $690

   OPTION 2 — Energy Auditor approach

   • Energy Audit: $800 + tax = $904
     • R50 attic insulation: $1,696
     • Total project cost: $2,600
     • Rebate: $2,600
     • Final cost after rebate: $0

   So, with Option 2, you initially pay $2,600, but after receiving the $2,600 rebate, your final cost is $0.

   We completely understand your concerns, and that's why we want you to have all the information before making a decision.

2. How will I know whether I qualify for the $2,600–$2,800 rebate?

   Your Energy Auditor will inspect your home and confirm your eligible rebate amount during the inspection.

   • If the Energy Auditor confirms that you qualify for the expected 2,600–2,800 rebate, you will then be required to pay the Energy Audit fee.
   • If, for any reason, the Energy Auditor cannot confirm the expected rebate amount, you are under no obligation to proceed. You may decline the project and pay no Energy Audit fee.

3. How long does it take to receive the rebate?

   According to the current Enbridge program information—and based on the experience of our customers—the rebate is expected to be sent directly by Enbridge via e-transfer to your bank account, generally within 30 days after your completed rebate file has been submitted.

4. Does this mean that only Enbridge-registered contractors can complete attic insulation work under the Home Renovation Program?

   Yes. An Enbridge-registered contractor may complete eligible attic insulation work without a separate licensed Energy Audit and can submit the required documentation for the customer’s rebate.

   An Enbridge-registered and non-registered contractor may also work in conjunction with an Energy Auditor. In this case, the Energy Auditor is responsible for submitting the customer’s rebate application and the required documentation to Enbridge.

   If the contractor works without Energy Audit, customers should confirm that the contractor is currently registered and that the proposed work meets the applicable Enbridge requirements.

5. What if the Energy Auditor does not confirm the rebate amount you provided?

   As an Enbridge-registered contractor, I provide my initial rebate assessment based on three key criteria: the age of your home, its design, and the size of your attic.

   When I submit your information through the Energy Audit portal to arrange an inspection, the assigned Energy Auditor should review my assessment. If the auditor disagrees with my estimated rebate amount, they should inform you before scheduling the inspection.

   If the auditor does not raise any concerns about the estimated rebate amount during the initial phone call, it may indicate that there are no immediate objections to my assessment. However, the final rebate amount should be confirmed directly with the auditor.

   Please also note that the Energy Auditor must first register your information through the appropriate program process to establish your eligibility and, where applicable, reserve the rebate before proceeding with the inspection.

   My goal is to make this process as clear and straightforward as possible for you. I will provide my assessment based on the information available, and you should have the opportunity to clarify any concerns regarding the rebate amount during the inspection.

   This way, you can proceed with greater confidence and a clear understanding of the next steps./p>

ENERGY EFFICIENCY WITH INSULATION

When you are trying to achieve better energy efficiency in your home, there are many ways to do this. Many homeowners do a process of adding a programmable thermostat, compact fluorescent bulbs, water shower heads that slow water flow, turn down water heaters, add window coverings with insulation properties, or even remove the dryer from home. But most people forget about adding insulation when they are are looking to improve energy efficiency.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY HOUSE PLAN

No better way to build your home energy efficient than by adding a great layer of insulation in the attic, walls and foundation of your home. It will protect your home from the wind, rain moisture of the surrounding areas, andbecome a buffer for your home. Insulation is rated up to 100, and comes with great purpose to create cost savings on many parts of your utility bills, and energy consumption. It makes no sense to buy new windows,a new energy efficient furnace, or even seal your home from drafts, when the major parts of your home are not insulated. Most builders recommend at least an R value of 50, and I believe going above this value is even more important.

LONG-TERM ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Adding insulation to your home or garage is a great way to increase energy efficiency. Simple changes to adding extra insulation around windows, doors and any any plumbing or utility areas will always cost the homeowner at least $100, but without full insulation, the cost savings will not be there. Energy costs will only continue to grow, as our resources and natural gas stores become more scarce. With a properly insulated wall and attic built home, a wood furnace can efficiently heat that home with nothing more than a few cords of wood a month. The cooler homes are as well, insulated from heat and humidity. If you are worried about mould, insulation is the right as well.
